After the state of alarm, we have resumed the field samplings related to the pilot experience of Navarra in Roncesvalles. Fortunately, the mares were able to access the pilot plots long enough to control the regrowth of vegetation this spring. Although we are at the end of June and the rest of the country enjoys high temperatures, in the Navarrese Pyrenees we have carried out the soil sampling with dense fog and low temperatures, but with great spirits and enthusiasm for being able to resume our activity face-to-face in the project. Like the other pilot experiences of the Open2preserve project, soil and vegetation sampling has been seriously delayed by the restrictions imposed during the alarm state. The UPNA-INTIA mixed team has been constituted on this occasion by Iñaki, Leire, Amaia and Rosa Maria and by the students in training Martín, Ainara and Martina.
Livestock management in the pilot plots is the fruit of the continuous and daily work of Luís, Josepe and the staff of the INTIA experimental livestock farm located in Roncesvalles. The soil samples are already in the laboratory for analysis in the coming months. We attach some images of the sampling carried out.
