On September 7, 8 and 9, the summer course entitled “Global Change and Resilient Landscapes” took place at the Public University of Navarra. The course framed in the proposal of the 6th Edition of the Navarra Ecology Summer School, was financed by the OPEN2PRESERVE project. Due to the current circumstances, the course was taught in a blended format and was presented in two online conference sessions the first two days, with a total of 10 invited presentations, and a field visit on the last day. In this technical visit, attendees had the opportunity to learn about three innovative regional and local experiences of adaptive territorial management, in wooded and non-wooded forest systems, among them the pilot experience OPEN2PRESERVE located in the town of Roncesvalles, in the territory of the ZEC Roncesvalles-Selva de Irati.
The course was a successful attendance. Around 70 people of very different backgrounds attended the online sessions, coming from different parts of the Spanish geography and from countries such as Germany, Argentina, Peru, Chile and the Philippines. The field visit was scheduled with limited capacity and a total of twenty people attended. We thank everyone for your assistance as well as the positive evaluations that you have made of the course. We will repeat!
