Researchers from the UPNA attended the international workshop entitled “International SUSALPS Conference 2018: Montane and alpine grasslands under climate change in the sustainable future” held in the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany) last September. The project presented the justification, the objectives and the scientific premises on which the development of the Open2preserve project is based on European colleagues not belonging to the SUDOE region.

Also, the workshop was an opportunity to learn about similar experimental initiatives (guided grazing for environmental conservation of open spaces) that are being implemented in the German Alps and discuss with their promoters (environmental managers, scientists, environmentalists, ..) the main obstacles and the best guidelines for its implementation.
